  1. I have an alienware m15x R1 (from 2011, lol) and looking to upgrade… got canadian currency and looking not to spend more than 2k, do you know what would be best… maybe wait for christmas/blk friday and look for sales then?

    thanks

    • Hi, the MSI GL65 Leopard would be a great choice for you. It is available for under $2,000 CAD on Amazon.ca.

But, if you have some patience, you could wait for Amazon Prime Day or Black Friday.

Good luck on the laptop hunt!

      • Hi,
I’m looking for a gaming laptop under $2,000 that will run Amazons New World, what would you recommend

        • Hey, on my list, the Eluktronics Mech-15 G3 is a great choice. Ryzen 9 5900HX, RTX 3070, and a 1440p 15.6″ 165Hz IPS display. It should run New World well at 1440p high settings.

  2. Hello,

Im.looking for a laptop that has a 2.0ghz or higher to support a program im using called silhouette studio..it was suggested that I get a gaming laptop..is a gaming laptop necessary? Do you have any recommendations..no more than $1500. Preferably something that looks sleek..thank you

    • Hi, I’m not familiar with that program in particular, but according to the necessary specs on their website, you won’t need a gaming laptop. I’d recommend looking at our general use laptop list.

A good, affordable choice is the Lenovo Flex 5 14″ for $600 with a Ryzen 5 4500U processor. It is plenty powerful for that program.

      • Thanks for your timely reponse..
I took a look at the flex 5..it says it has 1.3ghz..the program calls for 2.0 or higher..I don’t know much about laptops .how.much ghz is sufficient?..I can’t seem to find alot in the 2.0 range..Also my previous laptop is hp but its super slow now..Should I stay away from HP..I don’t see much on your list..Thank you so much

        • Processor frequency speed (GHZ) means nothing, it’s the actual processor that matters. This is a common misconception that people have when they first look at laptop specs. You will be fine with any modern windows laptop with an i5 and decent reviews.

  3. Hi! I’m from Portugal and looking for a laptop to work with. I’m an architect and will need to do some rendering (heavy rendering probably).

I’m willing to pay maximum of 2000€.

Can you guys help with which computer would be best to buy?

    Thanks! 🙂

  4. which is the best laptop if there is no issue of money? choose only one

    • Hi, in my eyes, that would be the MSI GT76 Titan at the end of my list. It is one of the most powerful laptops out there.

  5. Hey there,

I’ve had an HP 2000 laptop for the last eight years, the crumbling casing is telling me that it’s time to put it out of its misery.
My budgets around a 1000$, though I’m really more comfortable in the 800$ range. I’m not very hard to please, above all, I would want the focus to be a laptop that will last me a number of years having good thermals, with the ability to play something like skyrim at 60 frames on decent settings.
If you’ve got any recommendations for laptops or a specific brand, I would love to hear it.

    • Hi, I’d go with the Acer Nitro 5 on my list for $799. It has a 4-core i5 processor, RTX 2060 graphics, and a 1080p 15.6″ 144Hz IPS display, which is a solid combination for all games at high settings 1080p.

Or, you could move up to the Legion 5 on my list for $999.

  6. Hi! Im looking to upgrade my 7 year old gaming laptop- I’m trying to get a top of the line laptop that will be sufficient for VR once I dip my toes into that area of gaming.

I’m currently eyeing the Sager NP8358F2 with 32Gb Ram. Its price of $1800 seems quite fair for what I’m getting and doesn’t break the bank. Battery life and weight aren’t a very big deal for me, so I’m mostly looking for a nice, large screen, performance, and graphics for a good price.

    Any other suggestions or recommendations?

    • Hi, the Sager NP8358F2 is definitely a great bang for buck. That RTX 2070 Super GPU is a very good fit for VR, as well as all games at max settings 1080p. I’d say go for it!

  7. Hi!

I’m looking to replace an old ASUS ROG G551JM from way back in 2014, which is starting to really show its age. I have around 2000€ to spend, and I’m looking for something that could handle e.g. Battlefield 5 on max settings, and VR on at least medium settings. Weight is not a big issue for me, nor is screen size really, but I would like something with a thunderbolt port since I might want to hook it up to an external GPU and external screen at times when I’m more “stationary” to get even higher top-level performance for upcoming AAA titles. That also makes the laptop a bit more “future-proof”. Oh, and bad thermals in laptops is something I’m really fearful of, so that would be something I’d preferably like to avoid for sure.

Would you be able to recommend any good options for me? Thanks!

    • Hi Rasmus, I’d look out for the Lenovo Legion 7i 15″ since it has Thunderbolt 3, but it can run on the hot side and can be expensive (which is why it is not on my list). Still, it is a solid higher end device with solid build quality, but be careful with the hinges!

  8. Will the Acer Predator Helios 300 run Cyberpunk 2077? Does it have issues where it doesn’t use the GPU and instead uses the integrated graphics card? Does it have overheating issues? Thanks for your advice!

    • Hi, yes, the Acer Predator Helios 300 should be able to handle Cyberpunk 2077 around high settings 1080p. I don’t believe that should be an issue on the Helios 300. As for temps, the Helios 300 should be solid.

      • Hi, im look for a laptop that is future proof for the next 2, 3 years. that is, it should be able to handle future AAA titles at mid to high quality for the next few years. my budget is 1200$. What laptop would you recommend? thank you in advance.

        • Hi, on my list, the Acer Predator Helios 300 is always a great value option. Alternatively, the cheaper Lenovo Legion 5 with a Ryzen 7 4800H is a great choice too.

  9. Hi! I am looking for a gaming laptop for university. I play mostly esports title games like LoL, CSGO and Valorant, and I also need it for video editing (mostly casual/vlogs stuff). My budget is currently under $1400. Can you recommend me a laptop in that range? Thank you in advance!

    • Hi, as long as battery life isn’t a big deal, the MSI GL65 Leopard on my list would be a great choice. Alternatively, the ASUS ROG Strix G17 is on sale for $1,299 with an RTX 2070 Super, so if you don’t mind a larger laptop, it is a great bang for buck.

  10. Hey man!

I am in search for a magnificent gaming AND video/photo editing laptop. I just bought Lenovo Thinkpad x1 Extreme Gen 3 and while it is great for editing I got this need for gaming; Thinkpad doesnt have the strenght in that regard unfortunatelly (tried Witcher 3, wasnt having it at all).

Price range can go as high as 4000 – 4500€. I do not have a need for a desktop because of the nature of my worklife. So in conclusion I need a replacement for a desktop computer which can handle heavy gaming (for example Witcher 3, which I love) and also some 4k editing and heavy Photoshop use.

I know i’ts a lot, but I hope you have the time to answer. I have tried to search for information in these regards and as I dont have so much experience on laptops I need your guidance. Thank you!

    • Hi, perhaps you should consider another ThinkPad model, the Lenovo ThinkPad T15g. You get it configured with an RTX 2080 Super Max-Q, i9 CPU, and a 4K display. It is an incredibly powerful workstation!

Otherwise, if you want a gaming laptop instead, the MSI GT76 Titan on my list is a solid choice.

  11. Hey I have had my old Asus G74Sx since 2011 and was looking to get a new laptop. It has served me well during college as a desktop replacement and casual gaming, but realized some years ago that it can’t handle many new games my friends play and its probably just old.

I was looking for something that can possibly play cyberpunk 2077 on it decently but don’t know if I want to go all out or anything. my budget is around $1000 and I was looking at the ASUS TUF 15 but not sure if it is good enough or what I would need. I usually have my laptop as a desktop replacement and I am used to lugging this giant around so weight is not an issue.

  12. Hey, im looking to buy a laptop in the US in the next week, no budget limit. Im an architect and do lots of modeling and rendering + photoshop. I was considering the Dell G7 17inches. Which ones could you recommend for this case? Thanks!!

    • Hi, it is hard to recommend something without a budget, but the Dell G7 isn’t the best option since it runs hot. If you’re looking for a mid-range laptop, I’d say keep your eye on the Lenovo Legion 5 or Acer Predator Helios 300, both of which have good cooling.

      • Hey, thank you for the responde. I really like the Lenovo Legión 5. I have a budget around 2000-2500. Also considering the Eluktronics MAX-17. What do you think about that one, or the others around that budget? Is it worth comparing it to the Lenovo Legion 5?

  13. At which budgets do you get quite a lot of bang for your buck? I assume it’s not at 700 bucks. That would probably force you to play the most recent tripple A games on low to medium settings. But I assume that you also don’t have to pay 4000 bucks to enjoy PC (laptop gaming).

So at which budget ranges can I play great looking games at 60 FPS?
When it comes to competitive games, I always used to put something like Overwatch on the lowest settings, to get as much FPS as possible and as little input lag as possible. But single player games… I wouldn’t mind playing them at the “highest possible” settings, which still allow constant 60 FPS.

    Thanks!

    • Hi, although it isn’t on my list (it was a limited time deal), the Gateway Creator 15 with an i5-10300H and RTX 2060 was previously down to $699, which is an incredible value. I’m sure that it is bound to go on sale again in the future.

Otherwise, I would go for the Lenovo Legion 5 with the Ryzen 7 4800H and GTX 1660 Ti on my list.

  14. Curious why that T440 Lenovo is listed on here. Doesnt seem like a gaming laptop nor marketed as a gaming laptop

    • You’re right, it is not a gaming laptop, but if you’re on a very low budget, it is fine for very light games like browser games.

  15. I have been looking at the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 in the 1400-1600 price range and am pretty excited about it. In terms of specs it looks really good but i have been reading about tons of technical problems with the 2020 roll out. Do you think these problems will be solved?

    • I have one and so far it’s been pretty good, no issues. You also don’t have to disable turbo for this year’s model. Just use Armory Crate and you can manually adjust the tdp for the Ryzen to 35W, it’ll make the laptop a lot cooler. Dolby Audio is fantastic, screen is nice with no noticeable bleed, no coil whine and the backlight on the keyboard is nearly uniform and quite bright. SSD is also a new and very good one, SK Hynix which is TLC 4D and nearly beats out the 970 EVO Plus (srsly no need to put in your own). Fingerprint sensor is about 70% accurate.

only downside is still no webcam.

    • Hopefully, the new 2021 model will have those issues solved, but we don’t really know yet. But, it seems like ASUs has made improvements on all of their models that were criticized last year.

  16. The Gigabyte Aero 17 shows up as $3,145 at the link. Did it recently jump in cost? Is it worth it anymore at that price?

    • Hi Danny, it is supposed to be at an MSRP of $2,599. It looks like a third party is scalping it. I would wait for it to return to its MSRP.

  17. Can vouch for the Aorus 17G 3070, bought it 1) bc it was one of the only ones available for 3000 series RTX and 2) the screen and mech KB are fantastic! It’s been a great laptop overall.

the GS66 though – i’ve owned 2 that had problems, the most major of problems was the CPU fan died after only 2 days of use. don’t recommend – get the GE66 instead.

  18. Hi, I’m currently looking for a gaming/everyday use laptop, nothing too serious. My budget is from $800 to $1200 what would you suggest for the best bang for my buck in that range? Thanks!

    • Hi Erik, assuming that battery life and weight don’t matter much to you, I’d go for the Lenovo Legion 5 15″ with a GTX 1660 Ti or RTX 2060 graphics card would be a great choice. Otherwise, if you have patience, I would wait for the Gigabyte G5 to restock.

  19. Thanks for this! I’ve got a 10 yr old Asus ROG and I’m looking to upgrade finally. Any suggestions for something with a 17″ screen that won’t break the bank?

  20. Rogelio Perez May 10, 2021 at 2:54 am

Hello! I wanted to ask which would be the best gaming laptop if money was not an issue at this very moment and one for a 2 to 3.5k budget. I am also looking for a gaming laptop that has touchscreen capabilities with a max budge for 2k on this one(it’s for my GF and she just likes touch) thank you for what you do! I subscribed to your channel recently, your work is amazing.

    • Hi, touchscreen devices with strong performance are rare, but one option to consider is the HP Envy 15. I’d configure it with an i7-10750H, GTX 1660 Ti Max-Q, 16 GB RAM, a 1080p 15.6″ IPS touch display, and a 512 GB SSD. Then, for your laptop, I would go with the MSI GE66 Raider with the RTX 3070 125W GPU.

      I appreciate it!

  21. i need a gaming laptop for college, and I didn’t want to spend over 2000, however if it’s around 2100 or below, I’m willing to pay the extra $100 if that means I get extra SSD or something. if you could give me one that I could buy, that’d be great. thank you!

    • Hey, I would go for the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15 with the RTX 3070 on my list. It would work well as a gaming and school machine, since it has good battery life + fairly low weight + strong performance.

  22. Hello!

I have an HP i5 7th gen laptop and it doesn’t run my games like Valorant or League of Legends anymore without dropping the fps to 0 or getting stuck. It’s also getting slower with time too so I want to upgrade in hopes that the issues get fixed.
My budget is around 700-800 euros and hope you can advise me. Thank you!

  23. Hi, I’m looking for a laptop that around 3000-3500 AUD and I want it around 15 inch. Any suggested

  24. Hi, thank you so much for this helpful guide. I am looking for a laptop that is light (Under 5lbs must, under 4lbs would be a dream), has long battery life (7-8 hrs), and has a big screen (17” ideal but 15.6” is ok). I will be commuting by bike often, and like to multitask with a larger screen for productivity.

My budget is $2,000. I am currently considering Max-17, but the 17” model you listed actually states its 4.71lbs on the amazon page, Zephyrus G15 (no webcam). Can you help me out please? Thank you so much!

    • Hey, 4.71 lbs is correct, I made an error on the list. I’d say that if you prefer a larger display, that Eluktronics MAX-17 is a great choice. Strong performance + low weight + good battery life.

  25. Thanks for such a clear and useful guide! Anyone have an idea which of these has the best cooling?

    • Most of the devices on this list have good thermals, but I’d say that Eluktronics’ devices stand out when it comes to cooling.

  26. *ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 2021

You cannot find anything better in this form factor. I tried Surface Laptop 3 & MBA M1 and ended up with the G14. It’s the best in the price range. It doesn’t look gamery and it’s way more powerful than either of the other options.

Note: BestBuy has actually increased the price of the G14 to $1549.99 so might need to update the tier list though it goes on-sale sometimes at the ‘original’ msrp price…sigh.

  27. Hello,

I would appreciate Your help with picking a gaming laptop. I have Lenovo IdeaPad Y700-15ISK-80NV010NMH right now but I can really feel the toll of time on it and looking for an upgrade. I have a budget from 1500 to 2500 euros and I am looking for something that could be useable for 5 years atleast (hopefully). I would like to be able to play the most recent games with stable FPS and I do not really mind the size or battery of it. Preferably that it runs smoothly turn based map games, like Total War: Warhammer II or Hearts of Iron IV and some FPS games like Valorant. Also, it would be nice if laptop would not be heating a lot. I really do not understand much in computers so any help would be appreciated 🙂

  28. I am looking for a good value gaming laptop around 1300 dollars weight and battery life don’t matter just trying to get the most powerful possible laptop at that pricepoint any suggestions?

  29. Hello I’m from the United States looking for a gaming laptop under at least $1500 (I am willing to go higher but nothing more than $2000 if at all possible) that can run next gen games like Battlefield 2042 at above 60FPS, alongside RTX functionality (not 60FPS with RTX on for clarity). I’m having trouble understanding the specifications, even with help from friends so I was wondering if I could be pointed in the right direction here? Any and all help would greatly be appreciated!

    • Hey Damonte, if you want to stay under $1,300, I’d go for the Acer Nitro 5 with the RTX 3060 and Ryzen 5 5600H on my list. Otherwise, if you can go up to $2,000, the Eluktronics Promethetus XVII on my list is a great choice. I would go for the higher end configuration with an RTX 3070 and i7-10875H.

  30. Good night, first of all many thanks for the insanely helpful list.
Second, I’ve been looking around, trying to find out on which laptop would best suit my gaming needs within my budget (3k usd, flexible), maybe you can help me out by giving me your opinion.

I’m looking for a laptop able to run next gen games smoothly (i’d assume rtx 3070-3080 with a decent CPU), with a good cooling system (I’ve had bad experiences with overly hot laptops), preferably 17,3″ (not exclusively). I dont mind battery lift and weight.

Initially i was looking at MSI GE76 Raider, but apparently its not available atm. My second option was ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15. I’d appreciate your input very much.

Lastly, I’m looking to buy it from Canada, so any advice regarding shipping I would appreciate. I’d hope to get it by mid September, so theres room to wait if needed for the stock.

Thank you so much for your time!

  31. Hey Legos,

    What would you recommend:

    Acer Nitro 5 15.6″ Gaming Laptop – Black (Intel Core i7-10750H/512GB SSD/16GB RAM/NVIDIA GTX 1650Ti) @ $1200 CAD

    or

    MSI Katana GF76 17.3″ Gaming Laptop (Intel Core i7-11800H/512GB SSD/16GB RAM/RTX 3050 Ti) @ $1450 CAD

Budget is not a huge concern I just want to make sure if I were to spend the extra $250 that it would be worth it.

    Thanks!

  32. Hey!

Im looking to buy the best laptop for gaming and performance. Money is no object I am going to treat myself! 🙂

Any reccomendations? 15inch screen is fine for me. Thank you

    • Hi, if you want the best performing device out there, I’d say go for the Eluktronics Mech-15 G3 on my list but with an RTX 3080 and a Ryzen 9 5900HX. It will be able to max out games at 1440p.

  33. Which one is the best for playing on couch?
It means not too hot, with good cooling and performance.
    Budged does not matter.
    Thanks!

    • Hi, I don’t recommend gaming with the laptop on your laptop, as virtually all laptops are going to get hot on the bottom. However, I think that you can make it work if you purchase a laptop cooling bad. In that case, any laptop on this list will work for you.

  34. Hey there,

I’m looking for the best overall performance laptop I can get. I’m currently interested in the Max-17 with an RTX 3080 + Ryzen 9 5900 HX or even a Razor Blade Pro 17.3″ with 4k RTX 3080.

I’m not really sure how much better 17+ screens are than something like a 15″ inch. I’m also not sure how much better 4k looks over QHD on a laptop. It could be negligible but I can’t game test them at BestBuy or something.

Any suggestions? Do you have an absolute favorite gaming laptop for someone who will only be gaming on that?

    Thanks!

    • Hi, I think that 4K is nice to have, but I think that 1440p high refresh rate displays offer the best balance between refresh rate and display quality. So, the Eluktronics MAX-17 with the Ryzen 9 5900HX, RTX 3080, and a 1440p 165Hz display would be a great choice. There are a few options out there with a 1440p 240Hz display, but the perceivable difference between 165Hz and 240Hz is minimal for most peolpe.

      • Thank you for the answer. You mentioned 1440p 240Hz but can any of these laptops, say the Razoblade 17, actually run FPS like that anyway? Is there a ‘best’ overall beast of a laptop on your list in your opinion? Like, if you wanted to go all out.

        • Realistically, no. It depends on the game, though. Although it doesn’t have a 1440p 240Hz display, the Eluktronics MAX-17 on my list with the Ryzen 9 5900HX + RTX 3080 would be one of the highest end options out there.

        • I’m am almost set on that Max-17 with the Ryzen 9 5900HX + RTX 3080. Thanks again the the prompt reply and excellent list ( :

        • And I mean going all out at 1440p BTW.

  35. Hi I am looking to buy a Gaming Laptop for around 2000 Euro max. As I live in a country with limited availability right now I only really have the Omen 15 i7 rtx3070 available. the best deal I can find here is around 1900 Euro and I was wondering if you would recommend to purchase it at this pricepoint. New hardware might release and I want a laptop that will last me at least 3 years and provide a good gaming experience. I could wait and see if more laptops become available but I would like a new machine and so i am wondering: is it better to wait and see what might release or take this deal? is it “futureproof”?

    thanks in advance

  37. Hi, I’m wondering the Legion 5 will be able to run League of Legends at around 150FPS, that’s the primary reason I want the laptop? Any thoughts?

  38. What do you think about MSI GE66 Raider 10UG-602ES Intel Core i9-10980HK/32GB/1TB SSD/RTX 3070/15.6″

I want to but a laptop to work with 3Dmax and to play last gen games.

What is more important CPU or Graphic card ?

There are to much difrence betwen an 3070 and a 3080 ?

  39. hey I’m looking for a laptop suited for general use for school and gaming. What laptop may be the best option?

  40. Hey, I’m a college student with a budget of around 2000$ looking for a gaming laptop that could run FF14, Ghosts of Tsushima, and Elden ring, what is the best option?

    • Hey, I would recommend the Eluktronics Mech-15 G3 on my list. It would be powerful enough for the games you plan on playing at high settings 1440p.

    • I just realized that I accidentally said 2000 when I meant 1500$. My apologies

  41. Do you update this lost every month?

  42. Hi I’m currently looking for a good gaming laptop that would be able to play minecraft RTX, handle most Xbox compatible games as well as average VR titles. My budget is 1600$ CAD. I’m finally moving away from the consoles!

    • Hi, if you can go slightly over budget, the ASUS ROG Strix G15 is a great choice. Ryzen 9 5900HX, RTX 3060, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD, and a 1440p 15.6″ 165Hz IPS display. It should be great for games at high settings 1440p.

      • Any other options that would handle Heat dissipation better, curious because I have gaming sessions last quite long some nights

  43. Hey, i want to get the best performing gaming laptop under £1500, what laptop would you suggest?

  44. Hello, I am looking for a laptop that can run Genshin Impact and R6 near at least 60fps. I also want decent graphics. Any suggestions under $1000-$900 CAD?

    Thanks in Advance.

    • Hi, I’d go with the Acer Nitro 5. It comes with a 4-core i5-9300H processor, GTX 1650 graphics, 8 GB RAM, a 256 GB SSD, and a 1080p 15.6″ display. This combination should handle modern games at 1080p medium-high settings easily.

    • I also want it to be able to handle heat properly, since I have long sessions.

  45. high i am currently being offered the legion 7 3070 11800h for 2352 Card, but its a bit expensive and im not sure its worth the premium. However this price is being offered to me via corporate discount so they say, and if i go for the 3060 it will be the same price but it wont ship until next month, and the legion 5s wont ship for several months.

My other options are the g17 3070 for 1999 and the G15 AE for 1899 but this is open box., 1999 new

i heard some scary stories about the AE and its liquid metal im not sure if this has been fixed.

Is it worth paying the extra 600 bucks after tax for the legion 7, should i get one of the asus rogs? I was also considering the asus zepher/

I have a gaming desktop so this laptop would be used for gaming after family houses. So i cant see myself using it as my mainmachine when i am at home, so mybe the legion is overkill but i worry about the 6800 and its issues

  46. Hi, im looking for a laptop around the $1000 to the upper $1000 ranges that’ll be able to handle some high end gaming and potentially some recording (OBS or something) in the background. Half decent temperatures and half decent battery life and decently made laptop is all im really looking for. Thanks!

    • Hey Audrey,

It’s a pleasure to assist you in finding the perfect high end gaming laptop.
Before I do, may I ask what exactly do you mean by the upper $1000 ranges where your budget is concern ?
It is important that I clarify this.

  47. I am not tech savvy, but would like to play current and future Farming Simulator games by Giants Software on a laptop. Looking at the Legion 5 PRO 16″ with Ryzen 7 5800H, RTX 3070, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD. Is this overkill, should I upgrade to 32GB RAM to future proof (I don’t want the hassle of upgrading later)? Is there a better quality laptop for this price range. I am looking for reliability.

    • That should do the job and does it very well for you.
The 32 GB RAM is not needed , unless you plan to use laptop for more memory intensive tasks.

  48. oh ya, should I go with i7-11800H ir ryzen 7 5800H?
    Thanks

  49. Hello, first thank you this is an amazing list! What do you recommend based on the following use needs:

-work from home 2-3 days/wk when not in clinic, mainly zoom and office 365 plus some streaming content
    -very little video editing
-Decentraland (Metaverse) use…it feels like final fantasy XIV, or similar computer requirements. Do not judge based on decentraland website system requirements, because they are very false.
-Some gaming, perhaps final fantasy XIV or another beautiful game if time allows. Nice to have the option
-Portability and battery life not too important. I will normally always have it plugged in
-Thunderport 3 or higher preferred, as I would like the option to link up 1 or 2 monitors at home desk space
-I do value the sleekness and feel of the device, but not a deal breaker

    Budget: <$1400

I like the bang for the buck of the Acer swift X you have on your list, but I'm having a hard time choosing between its portability or another options increased power. Thoughts?

    Thanks again for this!

    • The Swift X is actually a great pick based on the tasks and criteria you’ve outlined. It definitely will do the tasks you have at hand and I think the portability will come in very handy for you, but this laptop does not have a Thunderbolt port. Something like this MSI Stealth 15M > https://amzn.to/3A7mLcc would actually give you more performance power in the graphic demanding and comes with Thunderbolt 4.

  50. Hi, I’m looking for a budget laptop that’s <$550 but isn't completely terrible. I'm not gonna play any triple a games w it, and just need it for gaming, netflix, work, and music production. I'm hoping that's not too much to ask for in a budget laptop. Thanks!

  51. Hi. I’m looking to buy a laptop primarily for gaming since I’m currently studying abroad in Japan. The games I want to play are Elden Ring, Halo Infinite, FFXIV, etc. Size doesn’t matter mostly because I’ll be playing in my room. I don’t have a budget but keep in mind I will not be using this laptop for editing or anything else, just pure ol’ gaming. What would you recommend?

    Thanks!

    • Hey Abdul,

Those games are not very demanding and most of today’s gaming laptops will run them. Our recommendation will be based on if you want this laptop tp be able to run demanding games should you decide to game and if you want this laptop to remain a top performing laptop for years to come by going for a very powerful laptop. It would also be good if you could at least tell us what amount of money you think you would be comfortable spending on a gaming laptop.

      • Hi, sorry I meant I want it to be a top performing laptop for 2 years, until I graduate. Also display size doesn’t matter to me.

        • 2 years is far more realistic. The Eluktronics MECH-15 G3 > https://amzn.to/3IOeP2p is a fantastic pick. It is a little above your $2500 budget, but is really worth it. It basically has the the best specs you can find in a laptop currently in terms of processor, graphics card etc., and importantly ,handles heat very well. It’s heat management , build quality etc., has set it apart from competitors.
It should easily serve you at the top level , for the next 2-3 years.

      • Hi,

So my budget is $2500+. I would like the laptop to be able to run demanding games and to remain a top performing laptop for at most 5 years.

        • 5 years…. Well, things change ever so quickly in the laptop world , so you would need to get the very best laptop available in terms of specs, at this moment, to secure that future proof. Question, does size matter ? 15.6″ display VS 17.3. Bigger laptops usually have better heat management and of course, a bigger display to see contents. On the other hand, the are more difficult to carry around if you do that a lot. So which do you prefer ?

  52. Hi, I am looking for a gaming laptop that would be able to run Minecraft with shaders and other fps games possibly. I want it to have a dGPU but not spend over $700. Would the best option be the MSI GF63 Thin?

    • Thanks for the reply, I have changed my mind. What would be the best purchase for playing minecraft with shaders and max settings? Shaders are fairly demanding and require probably like an RTX 3060 to play. I would also like it to be under 1000 dollars, I can upgrade ram myself.

    • The MSI would be the best where graphics card is concern and overall performance as a gaming system.

  53. Hey, I’m looking to buy a laptop that’s enough for basically just GTA 5 Online and maybe Dead by Daylight on decent settings and at least constant 60FPS, and otherwise general Office use.

    • What is your budget. We will be happy to help you .

      • I don’t really have a specific budget, I’m just looking for a device that is capable of that (GTA5 Online, Dead by Daylight at medium to high settings, stable 60FPS+, and office work, while that’s probably easily done on a device capable of said games) not much more – if any more at all – while spending the least amount of money possible. I’m not really sure what budget is necessary for that.

        I’d appreciate the advice!

        Thanks in advance!

  54. I am looking for a gaming laptop that allows me to play AAA titles like Cyberpunk 2077 at high settings with 60 fps, and hoping this is future proof enough for the next 3-5 years. Portability and battery life doesn’t matter as I plan on using this as desktop replacement. Prefer good screen quality but may occasionally hook up external display. Budget is around USD2,000.
    Currently shortlisted the following:
    1) Asus ROG Zephyrus G15 with RTX3070
    2) Lenovo Legion 5 Pro with RTX 3070 (or 5i Pro)
Should I also wait for 2022 refresh of the above, or grab one at discount right now?
Also, not sure if 16GB ram is enough, or should I opt for 32GB?
    Thanks a lot!

    • Hey Trav,

You have some very good options looking at. Of those, the Legion 5 Pro edges the race for me. If you can wait on the refreshed version of those laptops, of course, you stand the chance of getting not only a more powerful laptop, but also one that will stand a higher chance of staying relevant for the next 3-5 years. I don’t think you need 16 GB RAM now.. Get a system that is upgradeable, that if at any point in the future, games require more than 16 GB , you can upgrade.

  55. Hello, curious why the Legion 7 doesn’t appear on the lists anywhere?

Walmart has a good setup for $2000 currently. But I may not be understanding the purpose of this list or how its updated exactly. Thanks!

    • Hey,

This list should be updated shortly. The Legion 7 with the Rtx 3080 , just went on sale today..if it stays at this price point, it should easily be the top pick.

  56. Hi, I’m currently looking to buy a new laptop to replace my desktop for longer business travels. I will mostly stay at one place on these travels though, so the size or weight is not really an issue.

The budget is up to 4000$, but it does not have to be that expensive, if not needed.

I’m currently looking at some Asus Laptops (Zephyrus 15 & 17 and the Strix Scar 15) as well as the Legions, I will have to order from amazon.com though.

Just wondering if you have some input.

  57. Hey,

I’m considering buying a new laptop and was wondering if you have any suggestion. I’m currently looking at the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 (2022) but couldn’t find too much info about it online.

  58. Thoughts on the MSI GF65 at $800 vs. the Lenovo Legion 5 at $900 vs. the Lenovo Legion 5 (17 inch) at $1000?

$1000 is a pretty hard limit for me; I was really originally wanting to stick to $800 or so. But the extra ram and SSD space, plus the higher wattage gpu for an extra hundred seems good. How would the 75W 3060 compare to the 95W 3050ti? Performance and thermals? Basically the same question for the higher priced Lenovo; is the performance worth it and does it get too hot? I don’t love that it has a much smaller SSD but that’s easier to upgrade/manage compared to the GPU if the GPU is worth it.

I think the most intensive games I would be playing will be things like Starfield, Forza Horizon, Cyberpunk. Those type of open world games. Hypothetically future Elder Scrolls/Fallout games but those are probably a long way off.

  59. How does this compare to Alienware m15 R5 laptops?

  60. Hey,

I’m looking for a gaming laptop to play something like red dead redemption, genshin impact, destiny2 etc. at high settings 60 fps. Budget is 1000$. Battery and weight are not an issue. Looking for good screen. Hoping this is future proof enough for the next 3-5 years. What would you recommend?

    Thanks!

  61. Hey Kumar,

While we can recommend a laptop that will definitely run the games you mentioned very well, it is tough to say a laptop for $1000 will be future proof enough for next 3 to 5 years; of course,we will recommend a very well built one that should last, but in terms of being able to play the latest games 5 years from now, we can’t guarantee that. If you could step up your budget a bit , the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro in the $900-1199 budget range in this list, would be an excellent pic that ticks all the boxes for you; well built, great performer, excellent display, handles heat well etc. If you have a hard 1k budget, then the Lenovo Legion 5 in the 899 budget range would be less powerful, but a decent pick as well.

  62. Hi I am looking to get a laptop for under $500 for games? what do you recommend
